The 'old me' would have started off 2024 feeling anxious and overwhelmed... January 1st would typically bring a sense of urgency to have everything figured out for the coming year.
- Personal ambitions
- Travel plans
- Career goals
- Personal and family schedules
Well, this year I am starting off in a much gentler way.
I am checking things off my list slowly yet intentionally. I am not placing any pressure on myself to get it all done now. I'm taking it one day at a time, staying present in the moment, and accomplishing what my body, mind, and energy will allow.
And this time around it feels better – a sense of calm and purpose that comes from embracing the journey rather than fixating on the destination. I'm striving to carry this more authentic and intentional approach with me into the new year.
I share this so that you too can give yourself permission to take things at a slower pace and to take time to enjoy and embrace the process.
Wishing you a year that brings you joy, growth, fulfillment, and harmony.

Thanks Brooke, I agree - conscious and intentional is the way to go!
Hi Brooke, I like the gentle approach. Thanks for sharing - the CS Lewis quote is apt, I hadn't read that one before.
